The European Parliament is able to guide and promote the EU’s development and cooperation programmes with virtually all the world’s developing countries through its Committee on Development and Africa-Caribbean-Pacific/European Union (ACP/EU) Joint Parliamentary Assembly. John Bowis is a substitute member of the Development Committee and Vice-President of the ACP-EU.
