North Korea

John Bowis, together with Jubilee Campaign, organised the visit of a group visiting the Parliament last November (2002), seeking to raise the plight of North Korean refugees. A Sunday Times report recently investigated the issue, under the title "Chinese send Koreans home to torture" - referring to the North Korean refugees who escape to China and are often tortured on their return. The visitors from Korea and Washington met Members of Parliament, NGOs, the Belgian Parliament and Representatives of UNHCR.
