HIV/AIDS (World AIDS Day 2004)

To mark World AIDS Day (1st December 2004), John Bowis spoke in a debate in the European Parliament.

Highlighting that the scourge of HIV/AIDS affects people in all countries, with an explosion of cases on our own continent - in central and eastern Europe - John stressed that action has to be taken to develop vaccines and continue education to prevent the disease, but also to care for those living with the condition, combating exclusion, mental illness and lack of palliative care.
