Bowis MEP demands that the FA reconsiders plans to export Wimbledon to
Milton Keynes The proposed move of Wimbledon Football Club to Milton Keynes is a betrayal of many years of loyal support by Wimbledon fans. I have written to the FA demanding that they reconsider this move and ensure that Wimbledon remains in south London. John Bowis continued, This decision by the FA establishes a dangerous precedent whereby Football Clubs can be regarded merely as economic assets that can be exported around the country without any regard to local communities and their supporters. This is not a case of being anti-Milton Keynes, but about being pro-Wimbledon. Lets us remember, Milton Keynes is renowned for its concrete cows, not its football. |
